June Elliott, 99, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2017 at her daughter's home in Catonsville.

Known to those who love her as Mom Mom, she had a wonderful and loving spirit which will be carried on by her children and grandchildren. She always had a warm smile and was a friend and mother to many people over her 99 years. She loved to draw and attended Maryland Institute. She was in the Navy during World War II and she proudly served her country as a WAVE and in the reserves. One of the things she was proud of was living in Philadelphia and working at the Philadelphia Navy Yard as a payroll clerk and timekeeper. She told the story that on Fridays they could wear pants because they went on board ship to pay the sailors in cash. She didn't want to do that because wearing pants just wasn't right. She also told stories of living in the Benjamin Franklin hotel with her WAVE roommates and how she saw Lucille Ball in the service elevator one night. After she was discharged from the Navy, she met her husband, "Homer", on a blind date at a YWCA dance. They were married in 1955. She worked for International Harvester until her children were born and then she became a fulltime wife and mom. Later on after her children were grown, she worked as a rental agent for Henderson-Webb for 10 years. She enjoyed volunteering over the years for Augsburg Lutheran Home, Meals on Wheels and Lutheran Hospital which later became Liberty Medical Center.

June was born in Jamestown, NY on June 24, 1918. She is the beloved daughter of the late John and Pearl Nelson; the beloved wife of the late Curtis Homer Elliott, Jr.; loving sister of the late Richard (Dick) Nelson and Frances Shevlin; loving mother of John Elliott (Laverne) and Patricia Scott (Joe); dear grandmother of Lori Scott (John C), Andrew Scott (Rebecca), Jonathan Elliott and Mikayla Elliott and honorary grandmother to Hayden Galloway.
June was an avid scrabble player and Words With Friends player. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and all playing all types of word games. She enjoyed cooking for people and her kitchen was always open for a meal. She followed in her mother's footsteps and enjoyed making ceramics over the years. Her door was always to the kids of the Plymouth road gang. These are some of the things that kept her young and living to be 99. She had many friends who would come and visit for a quick game of scrabble and she was loved by all.
